Five very heroic soldiers

Five veterans have stationed themselves at Fort Hood in Kileen, Texas campaigning for the right to heal. They are there as part of Operation Recovery, a program of Iraq Veterans Against the war, that is fighting to stop the deployment of traumatized troops.

Military wives mental health in decline

Studies show that anxiety and depression are pervasive among military wives in connection with their husbands’ deployment. Was this always the case and it’s only now being studied, or if there is something in particular about the way war is waged now that is creating the problem? The article suggests that longer deployments are part of the problem.
