Huntington VA opens three building mental health unit

“In the past it’s been the physical wounds, for these wars it’s the psychiatric, the mental health wounds that are predominating, so we know that’s what we have to address first, these veterans have been in a different type of combat than what we’ve ever seen before.” – Janine Shaw, Chief of Mental Health, Huntington VA.

West Virginia Public Broadcasting reports that the new center will focus on getting soldiers fresh out of combat, and working with them for 6-8 weeks.

What we wonder, is if 6-8 weeks is enough time. What do you think?
