NPR recently did a story on photographer Jennifer Karady, who captures and visualizes veterans’ war stories. Karady’s work is incredibly interesting because she works with memories brought home by soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. She collaborates intensely with each soldier, interviewing them for hours, and then constructing a setting for the photograph that will visual represent his or her memory. Telling veterans’ stories visually was an important aspect of the making of Hidden Battles. Because of this we are truly impressed by Karady’s work!
